  • Responsibilities

    Reporting to the Director of Facilities, the Maintenance Technician position is responsible for maintaining facilities and equipment as well as performing maintenance duties as required in all agency facilities.


    Essential Functions

    • Performing a variety of maintenance duties, not limited to plumbing, carpentry, lamp replacement, HVAC, trouble shooting and some repair and installation.
    • Using PO system, maintaining an adequate inventory of maintenance supplies for emergency use.
    • Working with agency divisions to minimize lost time or production due to equipment breakdown.
    • Assisting Maintenance Engineer and Facility Director and/or Property Manager with compliance of ADA regulations at all agency facilities.
    • Assisting Maintenance Engineer and Facility Director and/or Property Manager with design, implementation and maintenance of a preventive maintenance program.             
    • Performing duties according to safety expectations and procedures.
    • Sharing responsibility for the safety and security of the physical buildings
    • Communicating safety and maintenance issues and concerns to ensure quick resolution
    • Maintaining a working knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to safety and compliance, not limited to OSHA, EPA, MSDS and lock-out/tag-out
    • All other duties assigned by the Directory of Risk Management


    The Maintenance Technician will be a proven leader with the following:

    • 3 years of general maintenance experience
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Ability to become certified to operate a forklift and/or hand stacker
    • Knowledge of basic carpentry, HVAC, plumbing, generalized maintenance and preventive maintenance
    • Strong knowledge of compliance requirements
    • Appropriate and professional communication skills and demeanor.
    • Good Organizational and prioritization skills with ability to stay on task.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of city codes, OSHA, HazMat and ADA requirements
    • Solid trouble-shooting skills
    • Must possess a current driver’s license, insurance and good driving record
    • Must have solid ability to work with and comply to preventive maintenance programs
    • Willingness to adhere to dress code requirements including but not limited to steel toed shoes.
