  • Responsibilities

    Reporting to the the Director of Facilities, the Janitor is responsible for performing janitorial duties to maintain a high standard of cleanliness at Agency facilities.  


    Essential Functions

    Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

    • Emptying trash containers, ensuring new liners are used
    • Sweeping and mopping floors, using correct procedures and equipment.  May involve floor stripping and waxing following specified training.
    • Cleaning restrooms and break rooms, including floors, toilets, sinks , microwaves, tables and trash
    • Re-stocking supplies, such as paper towels, napkins and toilet paper
    • Dusting and vacuuming offices and lobbies
    • Performing a variety of general cleaning duties, as requested or required      
    • Performing duties according to safety expectations,  procedures and required PPE
    • Ensuring the physical safety of the locations being cleaned
    • Communicating safety issues and concerns to ensure quick resolution
    • All other duties assigned by the Janitorial Supervisor


    The Janitor will be a proven leader with the following:

    • Must have 6 months of work history, unless this is their first job
    • High school diploma or equivalent is not required.
    • Must possess a valid license, insurance and acceptable driving record
