  • Responsibilities

    The Employment Specialist is responsible for the delivery of services that supports employment retention. The Employment Specialist’s objective is to slow turn over and strengthen retention through an intake and assessment process. The Employment Specialist will outline barriers and assist clients in effective resource referrals. The Employment Specialist will work closely with WRAP services and the Career Impact Program.

     

    • Positive interventions when supporting individuals at the work site.
    • Utilize coaching tools to increase motivation and productivity (role modeling, visual aids, prompting, etc.)
    • Works one on one with clients to improve work skills and production skills to meet employer expectations.
    • Observes, evaluates, documents each client’s performance
    • Records qualitative and quantitative data
    • Maintains accurate records on each client
    • Conduct intakes, develop Individual Employment Plans (IEP) and Individual Support Plan (ISP) for clients
    • Learn all aspects of the companies where clients are placed
    • Orients the client to the employer’s policies and procedures: helping them assimilate into the work place
    • Establishes and maintains a professional rapport with internal and external customers and clients throughout the community
    • Complete all evaluations and assessments applicable to their program enrollment.
    • Provide job related individual and group training sessions as needed
    • Provide a service referral for any participant who demonstrates the potential to benefit.
    • Maintain all client files according to the established policies, procedures and time frames.
    • Maintain all client contact standards and enter information into GoodTrak.
    • Participate on agency committees and community organization meetings as needed.
    • Develop and implement goals to enhance WRAP Services
    • Regularly update Career Impact Program Manager on client issues and concerns.

    Qualifications

    Qualifications:

     

    • Prefer a Bachelor's degree in Vocational Rehabilitation, Social Work, Psychology or related field, and 2 years of experience.
    • Microsoft Office and Windows proficiency
    • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
    • Must possess good time management skills with the ability to successfully juggle a variety of duties at one time, without losing composure.
    • Ability to counsel and handle crisis situations effectively.
    • Must possess excellent employee relations and customer service skills
    • A high degree of sensitivity towards all persons with or without disabilities/disadvantages.
    • Must have reliable transportation, clean MVR, valid license and insurance to transport consumers and/or drive for company-related business.
