Responsibilities

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the operations supervisor is responsible for the supervision of people and processes related to warehouse and salvage operations, including production quotas and the processing of outlet, baled and recycled salvage items. 

 

Essential Functions

  • Directing movement of materials within the warehouse
  • Directing the collection, baling and disposal of recycling and salvage material
  • Working with the Outlet Store, transportation staff and warehouse associates to ensure smooth transition of material and goods throughout the Agency
  • Assist in the development of processes to reduce material going into the landfill
  • Assisting in the hiring, training, supervising and terminating of employees assigned to warehouse operations
  • Providing performance feedback, documentation and discipline of warehouse employees
  • Evaluating associate performance, making recommendations for improvement as needed
  • Supporting warehouse associates and leads in meeting individual, weekly and monthly goals
  • Monitoring the use of warehouse equipment to ensure safety and efficiency
  • Maintaining daily, weekly, monthly or annual preventative maintenance schedules on warehouse equipment
  • Assume responsibility for training associates and leads in PPE and safe performance of all duties
  • Assist in setting priorities to meet daily, weekly and monthly goals
  • Communicate effectively with support departments and division management regularly to ensure goals are met
  • Ensuring assigned areas meet Agency expectations pertaining to quality and efficiency
  • Consistently evaluate functionality, flow efficiencies in assigned areas, recognizing issues and developing solutions
  • All other duties assigned by the Operations Manager.

 

Qualifications

The Operations Supervisor will be a proven leader with the following:

  • Knowledge of efficient and effective management skills as it pertains to both processes and people
  • Ability to recognize problems within systems and recommend appropriate solutions
  • Professional, effective conflict resolution skills
  • Strong, prioritization, delegation and multi-tasking ability
  • Ability to perform all duties of Warehouse Associate and Lead positions
  • Understanding of the importance of the donor process and how it supports the mission
  • The incumbent should have a minimum of 1 year of experience in supervising processes and people
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience
  • Solid comfort level with Windows environment, including Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with safety requirements in a warehouse/retail environment
