The Business Services Manager will have both internal and external facing responsibilities, focused on the design and execution of a comprehensive development strategy geared towards small, medium and large for-profit company relations and business development. The Business Services Manager will steward a portfolio of relationships, work as a team player to drive growth and achieve goals associated with the annual program fundraising budgets. The Business Services Manager will oversee a team of Career Scouts responsible for identification of new business prospects, stewardship of current business relationships and the drafting of written business sponsorship proposals, and associated reports. 


Job Duties Include:

  • Collaborates with the mission leadership team regarding the identification, strategy, cultivation, and solicitation of prospective businesses to create a development plan that increases mission revenues
  • Drives development strategy to achieve annual program fundraising budget goals
  • Drafts realistic revenue forecasts, in-depth analytical reports and measures progress on revenue goals
  • Works to expand current business service portfolio to meet performance goals around program work experience, assessment and hiring initiatives
  • Provides oversight of the business services team and associated business services database
  • Serves as an enthusiastic, well-informed agency spokesperson at key events to raise awareness, understanding, and support for agency programs
  • Stays current with organizational strategies and programs to remain a content expert in potential business partnership recommendations
  • Completes research regarding business and labor market trends
  • Assists in creating and providing training to staff, board members, and volunteers to meet fundraising goals


  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years of successful experience working in development, sales or other similar business sector or relevant combination or experience and education are required. Master’s degree in Public Relations, Business, Non-Profit Management or Marketing is a plus.
  • Experience executing and/or managing business portfolio of $3-5 million dollars or more annually
  • Proven experience in successfully identifying, soliciting and cultivating business relationships
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Ability to work both independently through self-motivation in an unstructured position and with a team and stakeholders from many different areas
  • Versatility and the ability to manage several projects simultaneously
  • Ability to draft business correspondence with proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation
  • Ability to recognize potential problems within processes and recommend appropriate solutions
  • Microsoft Office and Windows proficiency
  • Must have and maintain reliable transportation, clean MVR, valid license and insurance to transport clients and/or drive for company-related business
